All Sunday School classes take place from 10:00 - 10:30 am

Children

Nursery

A Nursery is available to serve our littlest members and guests during both Worship Services for ages birth to 5 years, and again during the Sunday School hour for ages birth to 3 years.

Children / Youth Sunday School

Sunday School opportunities are available for grades K - 12.

KinderChurch

KinderChurch takes place immediately following the children's sermon during the Worship Service.  Adult volunteers escort these young members to the Kindergarten room where they continue with learning activities geared toward their young minds and hearts.

Adults

St. John's Lutheran Church offers several Christian Education options for the adults in the congregation:

Bridges Class:  Composed of parents of young children, this group gathers to study and share parenting experiences around topics that focus on raising children in the Christian faith.

Fellowship Class:  This class utilizes Bible studies and current topics geared toward Christian growth.

Fall 2011:  Celebrate the bountiful blessings found within your growing relationship with Christ!

September:  Intentional Faith Formation (Pastor Steve and Preston Fields)
October:  Risk Taking Mission (Pastor John)
November:  Extravagant Generosity (Pastor Amy)

This traditional prayer asking for the grace of the Holy Spirit has been used for centuries as a prayer of hope and devotion. During the green growing season of Pentecost, it is during this time of the church liturgical year that we dedicate ourselves to the growth and renewal that comes with Intentional Faith Formation. It is a time of strengthening your relationship with Christ through the study of His word, His teachings, and through the gift of Christian Education. Yes, the opportunity to participate in the educational offerings are indeed a blessing and a true pathway for the Holy Spirit to fill your heart, to guide your soul and to rejoice in your clearer understanding of the love and perfect plan that God has for each one of us.

Augsburg Bible Study:  This class benefits from studies designed to cover the complete Bible in six years.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School at St. John's Lutheran Church is going on its' 6th year of dynamic partnership with First Christian Church and St. James Episcopal. This year, VBS will take place June 7-10, 2010 at St. Jame's Episcopal.

CrossTown Connections

CrossTown Connections is the Fall Wednesday evening Christian Education program at St. John's Lutheran Church with curriculum series available for adults and children.

Seasonal Bible Studies

Women's Bible Study
Offered weekly, (Mondays at 9:30 am), these well attended studies cover the Bible one book at a time. 

Young Adults
Young adults in their 20's and 30's, single and married are invited to take part in the YAHOO's Group.  The YAHOO's meet weekly for Bible study, and monthly for lunch and recreational/service opportunities.

Confirmation Class

This faith building and faith confirming opportunity is offered during the school year for 7th and 8th graders.

First Communion Instruction

Children are invited to participate in this annual celebration which addresses this rich means of grace.  Instruction will include three group sessions with family faith activities March 10, 17 and 24 at 5:15 pm.
